Beginners with less than six months of experience start in the Beginner program.
Instruction covers proper stance, holding the weapon, foundational footwork, eye-hand coordination, basic attacks, parries, and fencing rules.
After mastering the basics, students advance to the intermediate level, focusing on speed, agility, and stamina.
They learn to use electrical scoring equipment and participate in group bouts. At this stage, students are encouraged to compete in local, regional, and national tournaments.
Fencers who seek national and international results learn complex offensive sequences and more complex footwork. A lot of attention is given to mental preparedness and strategies.
Our programs are designed around four levels that reflect the natural development and progression of fencers. At each level, we recommend a combination of group classes and private lessons that we believe will best support a fencer’s growth to the next stage.
