Nadiya Fortunatova
Head Coach, Women’s Program
Nadiya is a 2004 Olympian and two-time Grand Prix World Cup Champion in Epee and Foil. She has also medaled at the World University Games and numerous World Cup events. At GSFA, she leads the Women’s Program, developing fencers from beginner to elite and guiding students to success at local, national, and international competitions.
Alex (Oleksiy) Fortunatov
Head Coach, Men's Foil Program
Alex is a former Ukrainian National Champion and member of the National Fencing Team, representing Ukraine at World Cups, World Championships, and European Championships. Since 2008, he has coached in the U.S., building competitive youth programs that produce medalists at all levels.
Both Nadiya and Alex hold Master’s Degrees in Physical Education and Olympic Sports from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine (Kiev).
Golden State Fencing Academy is located at 175 De Haro Street, San Francisco, California 94103, in the city’s Design District.
The club was recently remodeled, featuring high ceilings and a spacious layout that provides a comfortable and motivating atmosphere for training.
